This is the lightweight overview & notes on reasonable and acceptable use as opposed to the formal Terms & Conditions which can be viewed here.

In essence, we aim to provide value, scope and a range of resources beyond expectations where it's not in conflict with our own operations, other users, decency, or morality. (In most cases this would include 'the law'.)

The Genesis-Internet platform is for Entrepreneurs, Small, Medium and 'Large' businesses - as opposed to Institutions and Corporations.

We endeavour to 'level-the -playing-field' and give private enterprise the best chance of competing favourably with those who use their authority, size or influence to control or manipulate the market.

The systems in place are extremely efficient, technologically advanced and dynamically increasing in speed and capacity.  But, even where we offer 'unlimited' facilities it should be interpreted as 'within reasonable bounds'.  That is, we don't claim or intend that you could process the earth's weather database nor backup the governments ID card files.

We want you to be successful and trust that the resources we provide enable that.  However, in the extreme, if your success translates into a significant impact on server performance and capacity we also trust that you'll be earning a lot of money, and that you accept from the outset - that we'll be asking you to negotiate fair and reasonable terms for transferring to one or more dedicated servers.

This 'Red Tape' is a synopsis which could be reduced to 'Don't abuse it, don't push it, be honest, fair, reasonable and moral.'
 
We do not support any kind of insulting, offensive, abusive or sectarian activities.

We, and in consequence, you - rely on our partners, suppliers, the good-will of the 'open-source' community and the many internet resource providers for continued communications and interconnectivity.
Hence, sending unsolicited mail, being complicit in any hacking or virus spreading, handling pornographic or otherwise offensive material, intentionally infringing copyrights or partaking in any activity which gives rise to a noteable level of reasonable complaints - is unacceptable and will result in your site/s being de-activated.

Your 'normal' operations are likely to make use of graphics, pictures, music & video which are all acceptable subject to it not conflicting with the above and that it's in support of the pages on the site.  Bulk storage of music or video files for sharing or distribution other than through conventional sales is not allowed.

Up to three backups (on the system) of your files, hosted with us would be considered reasonable. Backups of other sites, corporate and business systems, or other third party material are not.

Please note that whilst the systems are physically, electronically & logically secure, this doesn't imply any level of 'guarantee' against loss, and you should have you own 'off-line' backups.

We don't allow the use of persistent server processes, mass interactive communication sharing or IRC (Internet Relay Chat).

Any site set up using an Add-on pack which is not already covered by an existing account will be de-activated. A grace period of 2 days before deletion allows for unintentional over-subscription whilst the account is corrected by upgrade and further payment arrangement.
