It's just one of those things - that many users don't fully grasp the distinction between 'ordinary' (POP) email and
Webmail. Others - not necessarily in error - consider that webmail IS the standard, or ordinary method of handling email.
With no intention of insulting the intelligence of the savvy, bear with us a moment whilst we expand on the difference.
POP (Post Office Protocol) email is 'delivered' on request to your computer when you use a Mail application, and you read and sort the
mail now stored - in your local system. It's easy; means you've got it to refer back
to; can copy out attachments etc. without being
on-line which is significant if you're on a relatively expensive dial-up connection - or paying per minute in a hotel room with your
laptop etc.
However, that's not very useful if you're in an Internet Cafe; On someone elses system; At work where you can't take personal mail or
using another of your own machines which you don't want your email stored on... So, then you use webmail.
With a good Webmail program (and note that some are far from good), you access, read & sort your mail on-line - live through the
Internet - using your browser (e.g. MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape Navigator, Opera etc. [ if you've only ever used
the one that came with your system... you should try the others. Most are free, and there are differences you might
appreciate. ]:o)
This means the mail itself is never in the immediate machine, can't be dug out by the next user, and anything you don't want can be
thrown away without being opened or downloaded.
In short, in all... it's a bit like whether you have your mail delivered through your letterbox at home, or go down to the sorting
office (from Anywhere in the World) and check through your PO box.
Our inclusive WebMail is one of the most powerful and flexible available...
Because it's integrated with your regular mailbox/es, most of the features & facilities listed under
[email] and here, are relevant
whichever method you use.

be shared between a desktop and Webmail client.
If a user adds a new appointment (task) or contact while using Outlook or Webmail, the
data will be automatically synchronised between the applications.
Webmail's Enhanced Address Book functionality allows you to sychronise your Webmail account with your existing address-books, or
exchange data with other applications. Import or export details with simple '.CSV' files (Comma Separated Values) to re-use, analyse
or sort in your preferred word processor, spreadsheet or database etc.
Using the built in Spell
Checker... with the new and updated language database, helps you avoid those silly, and sometimes
embarrassing
typos before they get sent.

on giant disk arrays and backed up each day, first to another disk array and then to tape which is stored offsite.
The 'Email Copy to SMS' feature allows you to receive copies of emails via SMS texts (Small Message System). For example you can set
up an email address such as sms@yourdomain.co.uk and have selected or all emails sent to this address automatically copied as text
messages to your mobile phone. This is part of the 'Email SMS Notification' add-on which is available at a monthly charge. Please
check the price in the Store (Buy Now / Shopping) section.
Similarly, the 'Email SMS Notify' feature allows you to get notifications of the selected or all emails you've received via SMS. For
example any mail from specific senders that your filters forward to - say - sms@yourdomain.co.uk can,
in turn - trigger a custom notification message sent to your mobile phone. Again, Please check the price of the 'Email SMS Notification' add-on in the Store (Buy Now /
